Tips for making the perfect quesadilla
- Preheat the griddle before starting the cook.
- Don’t overstuff the quesadillas. Trust me, after many failures, I can officially say, less is more for this recipe.
- Shred the cheese: You can use preshredded cheese packages, but when shredding the cheese at home, it melts better, and you will have more of an ooey gooey texture.
- You work hard to make the tortilla nice and golden and crunchy. So my biggest advice is to go easy on the ranch dressing. You don’t want to end up with a soggy bacon chicken ranch quesadilla.
- Once the quesadilla is golden to your liking, let it cool for 1 – 2 minutes before cutting. This allows the cheese to set.
Equipment
- Flat top griddle
- Griddle spatula
Storage / Reheat / Leftovers
- Storage: Store in an airtight container for 2 – 3 days in the refrigerator.
- Reheat: In the air fryer at 350°F for 2 – 3 minutes or back on the griddle at medium heat until warm through.
- Leftovers: If you make too much bacon chicken mixture, keep it in an airtight container and use it on a salad, in a sandwich, or make a wrap/burrito.

All of us are responsible for the safe preparation, cooking, and serving of food. The Kitchen Bucket List shares with you our personal experiences in cooking and food safety. We are not a food safety site. As a convenience, we provide informative information we find from food safety sites. Here are some key things to remember:
- Choosing the appropriate oil for frying, sautéing, or to use out on the griddle is not just a taste choice. Knowing the smoking point will prevent exposure to harmful compounds.
- When you head out to use the BBQ, smoker, or outdoor griddle, think about the safe placement of each. Pay close attention to the griddle, it is a large, hot open surface that can splatter oil.
