Air fryer roasted peanuts are a savory snack that is so simple and easy to make. It is a great recipe for your new and upcoming little chef. There is no cutting, just mixing and pouring. You will have a tasty treat for everyone to enjoy in only 20 minutes.

Air Fryer Roasted Peanuts! Thanks to P.T. Barnum

You know Mr. Barnum brought us the “Greatest Show on Earth” but did you also know he sold these savory little treats at his circus. You can just hear him yelling, “Get your roasted peanuts, here!!!” This little-known food staple was going to become a star. As P.T Barnum and his circus went on tours in the late 1800s this fun, savory, and easy snack was a hit. Roasted peanuts soon became a popular snack for street vendors and at baseball games. The best thing is the simplicity of roasted peanuts, anyone can make them. I think when it’s made at home, it brings a little magic to your heart.

Why we love making roasted peanuts in the air fryer.

This recipe is fun and easy to make. Let your young chef give it a whirl. It’s the perfect snack to have around the house. And you know when you get the children involved, they will love this savory treat. This recipe is:

    • Simple: You only need 3 ingredients to make this recipe.
    • Easy: All you have to do is mix all of the ingredients in a bowl. Pour it into the air fryer basket and it takes 15 minutes.
    • Tasty: These roasted peanuts will fill your kitchen with an aroma of nutty-salty goodness. The hardest thing is not to eat all these little tasty roasted peanuts in one seating.

Ingredients you will need for the roasted peanuts

    • 3 cups peanuts, I used lightly salted cocktail peanuts
    • 1 teaspoon salt, divided
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

    Notes:

You can substitute the peanuts with your favorite nut or you can add fun spices like rosemary or paprika. If you choose a different sized nut you may need to adjust your cooking accordingly.

    Directions:

    1. In a large bowl combine peanuts, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and vegetable oil. Mix until the peanuts are well coated.
    2. Pour the peanut mixture into the air fryer basket.
    3. Cook, at 350 degrees F, on manual setting for 15 minutes or until a roasted golden color.
    4. Place the peanut mixture on a baking sheet or a large plate then mix in the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Let the roasted nuts cool off completely.
    5. Serve and Enjoy!
