Roasting nuts in the air fryer is my new obsession

I am always looking for more snacks, different snacks. A new way of presenting food to my tribe that is fun and appetizing. The air fryer allows me to do this. Roasting nuts is a fun snack. Air Fryer makes roasting nuts so easy

When roasting nuts, in this case, cashew, in the air fryer I know I give my family a fun, healthy snack or a great addition on top of our salads. There is so many combinations you can do with flavors and nuts in the air fryer. The best part of it, it is

    • Simple: choose your nuts, pour some olive oil and seasoning to coat them et Voila!
    • Easy: No need for an in-depth, complicated mixture. Do what your family likes.
    • Tasty: With the wide variety of flavors, adjust the taste so all your family can enjoy and want more

Ingredients you will need to make these roasted cashews

    • 2 cups raw cashews
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon each of garlic powder; lemon pepper; salt

    Notes

I use olive oil. You can use any oil of your liking. This helps the seasoning to stick to the cashews. Just make sure it is an oil that can be used in the air fryer.

    Instructions

    1. In a large mixing bowl, combine cashews and olive oil.
    2. Mix until all cashews are evenly coated.
    3. Sprinkle the seasoning and mix until the seasonings are evenly distributed
    4. Pour in the air fryer basket and cook on a manual setting at 330 degrees F for 3 minutes and shake the basket. Return to the air fryer for an additional 2 to 4 minutes or until evenly golden.
    5. Take it out and let it cool off completely before eating.

    Skills

Coating your cashew with oil prior to sprinkling the seasoning is important. If you do all at once, the seasoning will “clump” up together with the oil making a paste and it will be challenging to have every cashew with some seasonings.

It is important not to overcrowd your basket. Shaking halfway through the cook helps to make more of an even roasting

When they are all nice and golden, they will be hot and a bit on the soft side. It is important to let them cool off completely before eating them.

I substitute the lemon pepper with Cayenne Pepper for a little spice heat.

Could you also use sriracha? Just wondering because I had sriracha roasted cashews at a bar but want to avoid turning on the oven.
      Many thanks!

        Hi Amanda,
I haven’t personnaly tried it but it sounds so good. I would roast the cashews first then toss them into the sauce once they are still hot. Let them cool off completely before eating.

I love this, though I thought it was a bit oily. I reduced the oil to 1/2 tbls. I also tried it with a chipotle seasoning, 2 tsp.
A great way to enjoy your cashews.

These were great right after they cooled down. When I went to eat the leftovers the next day, all the flavor had disappeared. It was the weirdest thing ever. Still, let the cool down but still warm out of the fryer they were superb! Thanks for the recipe!!
