Mini cinnamon rolls made fresh, warm, and soft right at home in less than 1 hour. These easy air fryer mini cinnamon rolls with crescent dough are the perfect breakfast treat for everyone.

using crescent dough vs pizza dough
These air fryer cinnamon rolls are the perfect hack for a quick fun kid-approved breakfast. I chose the crescent dough as it gives more of a pillowy and lite texture to the cinnamon rolls. Pizza dough works as well if you want to go for a thinner gooey chewie texture.
Why we love mini cinnamon rolls
Sometimes you just want fun, warm ooey-gooey cinnamon rolls and you don’t want to wait for the oven or make them from scratch the night before. This recipe is the answer with:
- Simple: Using a few simple ingredients this recipe has a few steps that can be done by anyone, no special skills required. A fun recipe to make with the kids.
- Easy: Preparation is straightforward with no mixing, just roll, sprinkle, and cut. Your little helper will learn some essential basic kitchen skills.
- Tasty: The cinnamon and brown sugar melted together gives you a scrumptiously sweet caramel-like texture. Combining this with the warm dough and frosting gives you the perfect match for a marvelous breakfast treat.
Ingredients you will need to make mini cinnamon rolls
- 1 tub (1 can 8 oz.) refrigerated crescent dough sheet
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
For the glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons heavy cream
Notes:
The crescent dough sheet can be replaced by the one that is already cut into triangles. As you roll your dough be careful not to tear at the seams. Sprinkle all ingredients and roll as you will do in the directions. You can also use refrigerated pizza dough, follow the same directions. The result will vary as the pizza dough gives more of a chewy texture.
Directions for mini cinnamon rolls:
- Butter a 6×6 inch baking pan. Set aside
- On a floured surface, roll the crescent dough into a rectangle, approximately 13 x 17 inches.
- Brush melted butter on the dough.
- Sprinkle brown sugar evenly, leaving a border, about 1/2 inch, with no sugar around the dough.
- Sprinkle cinnamon and granulated sugar over the brown sugar.
- Roll the dough tightly.
- Cut into 1-inch pieces. I cut both ends off. Then it leaves 17 pieces of mini rolls
- Place each piece into the pan.
- Bake in the air fryer at 320 degrees F on a manual setting for 7 to 8 minutes or until golden.
- Let it cool for 2-3 minutes then pour the glaze over (recipe below)
- Serve and Enjoy!

- Mix until well combined.
- Pour over the cinnamon rolls
Baker’s Notes
Skills
When rolling the dough, using a baking mat or floured surface will make it easier. When you are ready to roll, start by rolling the long side of the dough away from you. If the dough slips or moves around, slightly press down on the long edge closest to you. This way the dough won’t move and you will be able to get a tighter roll.
