Whisk together flour and cocoa powder in a medium microwave proof mixing bowl.
Heat in the microwave until the flour mixture reaches 160℉. Set aside to cool.
In a large mixing bowl, with a hand mixer, cream the butter and the sugars together until nice and fluffy.
Add the milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
Add the flour mixture in two increments to the butter mixture while on low to medium speed until the flour is all incorporated. Your dough will be thick.
Here comes the secret ingredient 🤫 fudge and chocolate chips. For this step, I highly suggest using a spatula or a big spoon to mix. It is easier because the mixer tends to make the chocolate chips fly everywhere😉.
