The Kitchen Bucket List wants to bring buttery, fluffy, and perfectly sweet Air Fryer Sugar Cookies for the Holidays. Done in under an hour, you can store the dough in the fridge and make them when needed.
In a large mixing bowl, using a hand mixer, cream the butter, powdered sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix for 2 to 3 minutes or until the mixture is nice and fluffy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until they are incorporated.
Slowly add the flour, about ¼ cup at a time. So it doesn’t go everywhere while using the hand mixer.
Add the baking powder and salt with your last flour addition.
Mix until all ingredients are blended. The mixture will look crumbly but easily comes together to form the dough.
Place the sugar cookie dough into a plastic wrap in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Roll the dough to a ¼ inch thick on a lightly floured surface.
Using your favorite cookie cutter, cut the dough into pieces.
Place in the air fryer. NOTE: I like to line my air fryer with parchment paper. DO NOT PREHEAT your air fryer with parchment paper alone.
Cook in the air fryer at 320 degrees F. for 5 to 7 minutes.
Let them stand in the air fryer basket for a few minutes then transfer the cookies to a cooling rack.
Cool completely before frosting.
Sugar Cookie Icing
While the sugar cookies are cooling you can prepare your icing. Mix the powdered sugar and milk together.
Put the icing in a piping bag.
Pipe the outline of the cookies first. This is a great way to create a barrier so the frosting won’t leak out.
Decorate as desired with your favorite sprinkles or colored sugars.
Happy Holidays!!!
