Servings 24 balls

  • ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 ¼ cup unbleached all-purpose flour
  • teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • In a microwave-proof bowl, microwave the flour for 30-60 seconds until it reaches 160 degrees F. (Other likes to put their flour in a cookie sheet in the oven at 300 degrees F for 5 minutes) Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, with a hand mixer, cream the butter and sugars together until nice and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  • Add in vanilla extract, milk, and maple syrup and mix with the hand mixer until all combined.
  • Stir in the flour and salt and mix until you have a dough, no more dry flour.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and mix until they are all distributed evenly throughout the dough
  • Serve as desired.

When we are all done mixing the dough, we like to take a small cookie scoop, make some balls and freeze them for about 20 minutes. Then transfer to an air-tight container in the fridge for 4 to 5 days.
