The Kitchen Bucket List loves sharing how to make delicious hot, soft, and chewy pretzel bites at home. This is a simple and easy from-scratch recipe.A batch of 9 is done in 7-minutes in the air fryer.
3tablespoonsmelted butter(salted or unsalted your choice)
1tablespoonsalt(or Kosher salt)
Instructions
Pretzel Dough
In the stand-up mixer bowl combine 1 1/2 cups of warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it be for 4 - 5 minutes until the mixture starts to foam up. This means your yeast is good
Incorporate flour and salt into the yeast mixture. Mix on medium speed until all ingredients are combined
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough for 4 to 5 minutes. The dough will form a ball. It will be tackie, and sticky, but doesn't easily stick to your fingers
Place the dough into an oiled bowl and let it rise for 30 minutes
Use a dough scoop to scoop the dough into the palm of your hand. Roll to form a ball. Place on a cookie sheet. Set aside
Baking Soda Bath
In a medium to large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil
Once it is boiling, carefully add the baking soda
Turn off the heat
Add 4 to 6 balls of pretzel dough into the baking soda bath for 30 seconds
After 30 seconds, transfer to a cookie sheet with a cooling rack
Air Frying
Line your air fryer with parchment paper
Place the pretzel balls into the air fryer leaving enough room for the air to circulate around each one. With my air fryer, I can do 9 at a time
On manual setting, air fryer for 3 minutes at 390 degrees F
Flip the dough and air fryer for an additional 4 minutes
Transfer them to a cooling rack. Repeat
Topping
Brushed melted butter on the pretzel bites
Sprinkle with salt
Serve and Enjoy!
